Wood grades

Wooden flooring is a product of nature. Each board is unique and that is exactly the choice you make when you purchase a real wooden floor. Differences in colour and structure are an expression of the individuality of each wooden floor.

Nevertheless, the wood we use for Lalegno flooring is classified into different sorting grades, on the basis of a number of characteristics. Here you learn everything about our wood grades.


The finest quality of wood, no knots, sapwood-free. There may be slight variations incolour.


Chance of small live knots, natural colour variations and occasional traces of sapwood on the edges.


Wood from both AB-grade and C-grade. Small live knots are possible. The result is a floor with a stylish natural look.


Virtually clear grading with locally a knot and natural color variations that bring extra character to the wood.


Nice mix of wood from ABC and CLASSIC grading, with slight color variations and the occasional knot. Without core defects and with limited traces of sapwood.


A rustic floor with knots and slight variations in colour, no core defects and occasional traces of sapwood.


Character flooring with heartwood planks without sapwood.


Character Floor with heartwood planks, beautifully finished knots and occasional sapwood.


Oak with possibly some small knots and natural, slight variations in colour. Stained sapwood fixed by the finish.
